Brenda J. Hess

Brenda J. Hess, 74, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at York Hospital. Born June 19, 1950, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Jane Rollins Harrelson.

Brenda was a 1968 graduate of CASHS. She was employed as a Quality Assurance Specialist with Pet-Ritz and most recently with Giant Foods in the deli until her retirement. Brenda was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was also in the Nellie Fox Bowling League, and the American Legion Post 46 Ladies Auxiliary. Brenda enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, doing yardwork, gardening, and was an excellent cook.

She is survived by her partner of 25 years, Jerry Lininger of Chambersburg; sister, Teresa Cifone and husband Martin of Bel Air, MD; two nieces, Natis Cifone of Bel Air, MD, Ashley Mascari and husband Joseph Mascari IV of Bel Air, MD; great niece, Angelina Mascari,; and great nephew, Joseph “LJ” Mascari V. Aside from her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by two children, Chastity Jane Hess in 1978, and Charles Dennison Hess in 1980; and her brother, Thomas Harrelson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Fr. Benjamin Kwaghba will celebrate. Interment will follow the service in Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church.
