C. Jean Lennartz

C. Jean Lennartz, age 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Shook Home. Born on April 30, 1927 in Lewistown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Buckley Bargo. A parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, she was also a member of the Columbian Ladies years ago. She also did volunteer work for Corpus Christi Catholic School. After raising her family, she went to work for Sears in Chambersburg, where she was employed for over 25 years.

Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years, William J. Lennartz, Sr., whom she married on April 8, 1947; four children, William J. Lennartz Jr., Patricia A. Group (and husband, Zachary) of Chambersburg, Mary E. Hornbaker (and husband, Terry) of Mercersburg, and Deborah J. Kissel (and husband, Michael) of Chambersburg; one brother, Cloyd Bargo of Reedsville, PA, one sister,Dorothy “Dot” Shields of Altoona, PA, six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Mills, a brother Robert Jr., a sister, Belva Glick and an infant daughter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, November 17, 2011 in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, PA, with Rev. Fr. Keith Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd. Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Corpus Christi Catholic School, 305 N. 2nd St. Chambersburg, PA 17201.
