C. Louise Skelly, 94, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday evening, January 30, 2015 at Menno Haven. Born July 1, 1920 in Blairs Mills, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Ethel Hendershott Crider. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Skelly had worked at the former Stanley Company for ten years. She was a member of Solomon’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Busy Bee Sunday School class and was active with the homemaker’s group. Her husband, Frank S. Skelly, preceded her in death on December 7, 2004.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene K. (wife of Jeff K.) Myers; her son, Lex C. (and wife Pam) Skelly, all of Chambesburg; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Stouffer of Mechanicsburg, Madeline Kuhn of Marion; and two brothers, Virgil Crider of St. Thomas, and Fred Crider of Little Britton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lucille, and a granddaughter, Rachel.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, February 6, 2015 at Solomon’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4856 Wayne Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Bill Nienstadt and Chaplain Brenda Doyle officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
