Cameron Mark Hibshman, age 42, of Washington, D.C., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at George Washington University Hospital. Cameron was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in early October and was undergoing treatment. Born in Lebanon, PA, on November 20, 1978, he was the son of Patricia A. and Thomas Hanks of Chambersburg, PA.
Cameron was a 1997 graduate of Eastern Lebanon County High School, 2001 graduate of Bloomsburg University, and received his Master’s Degree from George Mason University in 2007; at the time of his passing, he was working as an Education Support Specialist for the Fairfax County Public School District. During his 20-year career with Fairfax County Public Schools, he served as a deaf and hard of hearing interpreter, deaf and hard of hearing teacher, deaf and hard of hearing department chair. A vibrant spirit, Cameron enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends, Broadway Shows, travel, and going to the beach.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Branden P. Hibshman (wife Nicole) of Myerstown, step-brother, Brian Hanks of Harrisburg, and step-brother, David Hanks (wife Lura) of Greencastle PA, maternal grandmother, Louise Garrigan, paternal grandmother, Orpha Doutrich, and nephews, Weston and Evan Hibshman along with Sarah, Amber, Nathan and Natalie Hanks. He was preceded in death by a niece, Riley Hibshman.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 1 – 4 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA.
