Carl L. Blair, Jr., 65, of Chambersburg, PA, died Wednesday morning, May 9, 2012 at Quincy United Methodist Home where he resided the past several months. Born January 4, 1947 in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Carl L., Sr. and Lydia Christine Bartles Blair. Carl was a 1965 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School where he participated in many different sports. He went on to serve in the US Army Reserve. A self employed carpenter, he had at one time been employed by the former Northern Homes of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Carl was an avid sports fan and early in his life played for the former Waynesboro Tigers and later for the Chambersburg Cardinals. He liked spending time with his family and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He is survived by two children, Carl R. Blair and wife Tricia of Florida and Kimberly Bowman and husband Eric of Boonsboro, MD; five grandchildren, Annika, Alexa, and Kyle Blair, and Cody and Zachary Bowman; a step-granddaughter, Kayla Blair; and five siblings, Dwight Munson and wife Sandy of Upper Strasburg, PA, Linda Ganoe and husband Melvin of Chambersburg, PA, Pamela Mills and husband George of Mont Alto, PA, June Hull and Samuel “Butch” Hull, both of Hagerstown, MD.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, May 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Richard Mose will officiate. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday and from 10:30-11:30 AM Monday at the funeral home.
