Carl L. Seylar, Sr., 91, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Born January 19, 1932 in Hedgesville, WV, he was the son of the late David P. and Lula L. Myers Seylar. His beloved wife, Margaret P. John Seylar, preceded him in death on March 29, 2014.
Carl was employed as an auto mechanic until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Freedom In Christ Church. Carl enjoyed listening to music and working on cars.
He is survived by five children, Linda L. Dylewski (husband Ron) of Lake Michigan, MI, Ruthann Betz (husband Randy) of Hedgesville, WV, Carl William Seylar of Birmingham, AL, Carl L. Seylar, Jr. of Chambersburg, and John B. Seylar of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Aside from his parents and wife, Carl was preceded in death by his son, Charles D. Seylar, and three sisters, Geraldine Morris, Irene Draper and Marion Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
