Carol Lattaro

Carol F. Lattaro (nee Carol Ann Francis) of Chambersburg, PA, departed this life on February 24, 2022 in Chambersburg, PA. Carol was born March 1, 1937 in Uniontown, Fayette County, PA, and lived in the Philadelphia area for many years. She graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1955. She worked as a secretary in the fields of law and real estate, and she was the best at what she did. She was later employed as a secretary at Boeing Corp. where she kept a group of engineers in line. Carol and her husband, Londy, moved to Chambersburg in 1998 to spend their retirement years and build their dream home.

Carol served her community as a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. She was also a member of the Chambersburg Garden Club for several years and volunteered with Coyle Friends. She was an avid gardener and talented home decorator. Carol was the family historian, and she greatly enjoyed her hobby of genealogy.

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Orlando D. Lattaro; her parents, Charles L. Francis and Dorothy Jean (nee Carroll) Francis; her brothers Jack Francis and Ron Francis; and her half siblings, Bill Francis and Betty Francis.

She is survived by her favorite (and only) daughter, Cheryl L. Sanford and son-in-law, Bill Sanford, of Sutherland, VA; granddaughter Katharine (Katie) L. Sanford, of Hobbsville, NC; granddaughter Leah E. Van Huyck and her husband James Alec Van Huyck, of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren Emma Lee Van Huyck and James Austin Van Huyck; brother Buck Francis and his wife, Marlene Francis; sisters-in-law Lois Francis and Margaret Francis; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her family, Carol leaves to cherish her memory many kind, loving neighbors and friends, especially Dorie Lininger and Maria Jenkins. Carol is also survived by her much loved cat, Reba.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 3, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Gayle Ruble will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until services begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM on Thursday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
