Carol A. Meminger, 81, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10, 2022. Born July 20, 1940 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Josephine Mickey Vanderau. Carol was a 1958 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. Early in her life she had been employed at Letterkenny Army Depot. She then married Charles B. Meminger, Jr. on December 17, 1960 and enjoyed time at home raising her children. She later returned to work and was employed in the Purchasing Department of Chambersburg Hospital prior to her retirement. She was a member of the former Chambersburg Brethren In Christ Church where she and her husband enjoyed attending worship service and Sunday school. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed many afternoons with a glass of tea reading on her front porch. She loved animals and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. As a young girl, she enjoyed riding horses for both pleasure and competitively. Her hobbies included bowling, baking, and flower gardening.
In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by two daughters, Christy L. Wagaman and husband Dennis of Chambersburg and Suzanne Upperman and husband Charlie of St. Thomas; two grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary Courtney; and two cousins, David Mickey and wife Tannie of Kodiak, Alaska and Virginia “Ginny” Walters of Chambersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
