Caroline A. (Truax) Bricker, 81, of Fannettsburg, PA, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Born February 26, 1933 in Eden, PA (now known as Wells Tannery), she was a daughter of the late Charles Lee and Beulah M. Naugle Truax. She was a 1950 graduate of the Hustontown High School. Her husband of 45 years, Walter L. Bricker, proposed to her on graduation day and they were married October 1, 1950. Walter preceded her in death on August 12, 1996. She was employed at the former Howard Johnson’s on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Path Valley, and along with her husband managed the former Tollhouse Restaurant in Ft. Littleton, PA. She was a member of the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church and its Women’s Association. She was also a member of the Metal Township Fire and Ambulance Company. Caroline loved gardening, especially growing yellow flowers. She enjoyed watching humming birds out her window, cooking, visiting with her sisters, playing Bingo, and playing cards with her granddaughter, Annaleigh.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey L. Bricker and wife Michelle; her granddaughter, Annaleigh Benoit, all of Fannettsburg; her sister, Glenda Cramer of Newburg; and fourteen nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Ruth Fisher in 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church, Fannettsburg, PA with Rev. Donna Ryan and Rev. Marlin “Butch” Neil officiating. Interment will follow at Lower Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA and from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday at the church.
