Carolyn Shaffer

Carolyn M. Shaffer, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2014 at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg. Born July 20, 1945 in Hancock, MD, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. Marks, Sr. and Marian Smith Marks. Carolyn was a graduate of the Hancock High School and had been employed for twenty years by Dunn and Bradstreet in Harrisburg, PA. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting. Carolyn met everyone with her arms wide open for a hug and she will be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her infectious laughter and smile.

She is survived by two children, Tylice Marks and Tracie Marks, both of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Aaron Marks, Brandon White, and Shatice White; eleven siblings, Nancy L. Jones, Joseph H. Marks, Jr., Charles E. Marks, Delores V. Price, Steven B. Marks, Freddie R. Marks, Virginia L. Jenkins, Marian R. Mattress, Reginald E. Marks, Catherine J. Dawson, and Phillip W. Marks; and a host of nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Daxter Shaffer, and a daughter, Sydney Shaffer; as well as a brother, Robert N. Marks.

The family will announce plans for a memorial service at a later date.
