Carrie Arrowood

Carrie E. Arrowood, age 91, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Born August 14, 1921 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ellen Holtry Christman. Her husband, Buford Arrowood, preceded her in death on December 11, 1971.
Mrs. Arrowood worked at the former Stanley Company as a press operator. She was a member of St. James United Brethren Church, the Clarence Armstrong VFW Post #6241 Ladies Auxiliary, and a past president of the American Legion Post #612 Ladies Auxiliary in St. Thomas.
She is survived by her sons, James C. Arrowood (wife Frances) of Chambersburg, and Donald R. Arrowood of Chambersburg, PA; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Christman, and Mildred Wallech both of Chambersburg; one brother, Merle Christman of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Norland Cemetery, where Rev. Robert Mentzer will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Menno Haven Benevolent Care, 2011 Scotland Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201.
