Cecil Felmlee

Cecil Campbell Felmlee, 86, passed away April 20, 2013 in Chambersburg Hospital. He was born May 5, 1926 in Doylesburg, PA and was the son of the late Roy E. and Mary L. Campbell Felmlee.

Cecil attended Ryder’s School, a one room schoolhouse, for eight years, graduating from Fannett Township High School in 1944. Due to rheumatic fever during his senior year, he was turned down by the military but worked at Letterkenny for one year and H.J. Heinz Company for two years. Following correspondence courses in radio and refrigeration, supplemented by hands-on training in Chicago, he opened Cecil’s Radio Shop. Completion of a technical course in electrical work led him to open an electrical contractor business, Cecil’s Electric Service, where he served Path Valley and surrounding areas for over sixty-two years. He was a Nationwide Insurance Company representative for ten years and Justice of the Peace for three years.

He was granted an honorary lifetime membership in the Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Company for his services. He was also a former member of the Path Valley Lions Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty in 1941 and Nancy in 1957. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Book Felmlee, whom he married on December 29, 1951, children: Linda Felmlee of Scottsdale, AZ, Cheryl Felmlee of Valley Cottage, NY, David Felmlee of Shippensburg PA, and grandson Alec Felmlee of Scottsdale, AZ.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 25 at the Spring Run Bible Church, 20722 Hammond Road, Spring Run, PA., with Pastor John R. Semple officiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday April 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA and one hour before the service in the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Doylesburg Cemetery.

Cecil followed the Christian faith. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Spring Run Bible Church, c/o Douglas Harvey, 20722 Hammond Road, Spring Run, PA 17220 or Child Evangelism Fellowship, P.O. Box 6, Waynesboro, PA 17262.
