Chad Silver

Chad C. Silver, 30, of 4016 Roxbury Road, Shippensburg, PA, died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident early Saturday morning on Interstate 81 in Franklin County. Born December 26, 1980 at Ft. Leavenworth, KS, he was a son of Gene and Teresa Davison Silver of 455 Briar Lane, Chambersburg. Chad was a 1999 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and a 2006 graduate of The Academy of Culinary Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He had formerly been employed as a chef at Hollywood Casino in Grantville and was currently employed as the chef at EJ’s Grille in Chambersburg. Chad was a member of the American Culinary Federation and prior to moving from Chambersburg attended King Street Church. Chad loved to cook. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed camping, gardening, and animals.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Austin James Silver; his fiancé, Ashley Pensinger and their daughter to be born July 2, 2011. Chad is also survived by two brothers, Aaron E. Silver of Waynesboro and Ryan (and wife Krissie) Silver currently serving with the US Army Military Police at Ft. Carson, CO; a nephew, Tyler, and a niece, Jaelynn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dr. John Beukema and Rev. Lester Stine will officiate. Interment will be a 2:00 PM Wednesday at Sphors Crossroads Cemetery, Berkley Springs, WV. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
