Chalmers A. Walck, Jr., age 76, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 11, 1937 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of Chalmers A., Sr. and Anna Lucille Hassinger Walck.
A graduate of Hagerstown High School in 1955, Mr. Walck went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force, until his retirement in 1975, after 20 years of service. He then went on to work as a sales rep for Blaine Window Hardware in Hagerstown for 10 years. Mr. Walck was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1599, AmVets Post 224, Marine Corps League, and a Post member of the American Legion Post 46, all in Chambersburg. A history buff, Mr. Walck enjoyed watching World War I and II movies. He also enjoyed watching Fox News, playing pogo, miller lite, and spending time with his wife and family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Sue Walck, whom he married on September 3, 1958; his daughter, Linda W. Walck of Harrisburg, PA; and a sister, Beverly M. Rebuck (husband Arthur) of St. Thomas, PA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Walck.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 PM on Friday in the funeral home.
