Charles R. Caldwell, 79, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Sunday morning, January 15, 2017 at York Hospital. Born October 1, 1937 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Walter T. Caldwell and Janice Stoner Caldwell Schaffe. He served honorably with the US Air Force and retired from the former James River Company in Chambersburg, retiring after 45 years of service. He was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW in Chambersburg. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, golf, and country western dancing.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his companion, Gloria Rhinehart; four children, Richard Caldwell, Vicki Pruitt Roberts of OK, Tammy Beck and husband Charles of Youngstown, OH, and Lisa Schriner of Youngstown, OH; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; three siblings, Pat Kemp of Chambersburg, Bob Gearhart of Fayetteville, and Leroy Caldwell and wife Carol of MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Sonny.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until services begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
