Charles Christman

Charles E. Christman, 78, of Waynesboro, PA, died on Thursday, November 1st, 2018 in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. Born on April 25, 1940 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late George W. Christman Sr. and Mildred Helman Christman.

Charles graduated in 1958 from Greencastle Antrim Senior High School and retired from the former Grove Worldwide with 40 years of service. An avid fan of the Oakland A’s baseball team, he also enjoyed music, woodworking and gardening.

Surviving are his four children, Debra Kerr (husband Keith) of Alexandria, VA, Rodney Christman (wife Kelly) of St. Thomas, Kim Eckstine (husband Rodney) of Greencastle and Curtis Christman of Maine; siblings George W. Christman Jr. and Hazel Zullinger (husband Nelson) all of Chambersburg, Shirley Bitner of Greencastle and Nelson Christman (wife Deb) of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren four great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Purnell. He was preceded in death by a sister, Florence; brother, Richard; brother-in-law Vinson Bitner; and sister-in-law, Faye Christman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor Gordon McDaniel will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
