Charles G. Dade, 68, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday March 20, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 11, 1950, in Richmond, VA, he was the son of Stella P. Dade.
Charles was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. A US Army veteran, he served honorably in the Vietnam War. During his time in the Army, Charles was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Bronze Star Medal and the Air Medal. He was employed as a maintenance technician with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for 25 years until his retirement in 2012. An avid outdoorsman, Charles enjoyed hunting and hiking.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lana Tarner Dade, whom he married on August 16, 1997; two step-children, Kristy Kahn (husband Steve) of Savage, MD, and Scott H. French of Hagerstown, MD; two grandsons, Luke and Noah Kahn; a cousin, Albert Spottswood of Waynesboro, PA; and numerous other cousins.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside service with military honors to be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Steve Kahn will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Saturday at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.
