Charles Erwin Devinney, 78, of Fayetteville, PA, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2020 at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Chambersburg. Born February 11, 1942 in Concord, PA, he was a son of the late Orlando and Helen Parsons Devinney, and the widower of the late Christine R. Miller Devinney, who passed away on May 25, 2017.
Charles worked at various establishments in the area including Mt. Cydonia, T.B. Woods, and most recently as a lift operator at David H. Martin Excavating. He was an avid hunter and was always looking out for good bargains at yard sales.
He is survived by his siblings, Carl Devinney, Donna Bishop and husband Harold, Linda Johnson and husband Gene, Audrey Rowles, and Barbara Reeder; one granddaughter, Renee Day Roush; and two grandsons Austin Day and Paul Roush Jr. In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by his two daughters, Debra Leydig and Helen Marie Devinney, as well as two siblings, Mary Hockenberry and Fred Devinney.
A graveside service for Charles will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Fair Ridge Cemetery in Shade Gap, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
