Charles E. “Stretch” Harmon, 75, of Marion, PA, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 2, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 16, 1946 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Glenn and Della Spoonhour Harmon. He was employed as a truck driver with Nitterhouse Masonry for more than 40 years, retiring in 2011. Mr. Harmon played for the Chambersburg Cardinals in the late 60s and early 70s and was a member of the 1969 championship team. He was a member of the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club in Smithsburg, MD and the Redmen’s Club in Williamsport, MD. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Harmon (wife Kelly) of Fayetteville, PA and Randy Harmon (wife Gretchen) of New Franklin, PA; three grandchildren, Riley Harmon, Tara Harmon, and Brock Harmon; a great-granddaughter, Paislee; and two step-grandchildren, Paige Glunt (husband Benji) and Cameron Seilhamer. He is also survived by a brother, Nelson “Whimpy” Harmon (wife Violet “Joan”) of McConnellsburg, PA; a sister, Joyce Kriner of Chambersburg, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Priscilla Titsworth and Connie Leggett.
