Charles F. “Charlie” Miley, 70, of St. Thomas, PA, passed away on Saturday morning, July 11, 2015 at ManorCare Health Services. Born March 14, 1945 in Spring Run, he was a son of the late Dorothy “Dutch” (Miley) Hammond who preceded him in death on February 14, 2002.
Charlie worked on the mechanical and electrical parts on tanks at Letterkenny Army Depot for 27 years. He then worked for Jiffy Lube in Chambersburg for 18 until his retirement in 2014. Charlie loved his work. He also enjoyed fishing.
Charlie is survived by his half-brother, Clyde Hammond (wife Mary) of Fayetteville. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Carl Miley; and a sister, Sue Jenkins.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St. Dry Run, PA 17220. Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. It was Charlie’s wish that everyone in attendance dress casual.
