Charles R. Miller, 93, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 at his home. Born October 20, 1928 in Mont Alto, PA, he was a son of the late Robert and Mildred Snider Miller. His beloved wife, Kay Kibbe Miller, preceded him in death on April 8, 2020.
A US Army veteran, Charles served honorably from 1946 until his retirement in 1975 as Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a veteran of the German occupation after World War II with the US Army Air Corps. He continued his service with the US Army in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge 600, VFW Post 1599, American Legion Post 46, all in Chambersburg. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and collecting coins.
Charles is survived by two siblings, Mary Norcross of Chambersburg, and Jacob D. Miller (wife Roberta) of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by six siblings, Robert Miller, Frank Miller, Louise Poe, Ida Woods, Betty Stake, and Florence Moyer.
A memorial service to honor Charles’ life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Military honors will be provided by members of the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. Inurnment in Oaklawn Cemetery, Batesville, AR will be private.
