Charles Morrison

Charles R. “Bud” Morrison, 73, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at 11:05 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at home. Born November 6, 1937 in Inwood, WV, he was a son of the late Chester R. and Hattie Mae Kirby Morrison. A US Air Force Veteran, Charles was employed as a Supervisor at the James River Corporation, formerly the American Can Company in Chambersburg retiring with more than thirty years of service. Following his retirement he was employed as a custodian at the Franklin Learning Center for seven years. Charles was of the Protestant Faith. He held membership in the Harry Lackhove Post 517 American Legion, Mercersburg, Detrich Brechbill Post 612 American Legion, St. Thomas, Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, the 40 et 8 Club, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #842, all in Chambersburg. He enjoyed camping with his granddaughters, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and NASCAR racing.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Anna Elliott Morrison, whom he married June 25, 1960; three children, Penny R. Morrison of Fayetteville, Eugene R. Morrison and Timothy G. Morrison and wife Tina, all of Chambersburg; three granddaughters, Taylinn M. Morrison, Samantha A. Morrison, and Sabrina M. Morrison. He is also survived by four sisters, Thelma Feldman and husband James of Pleasant Hall, Helen Hull and husband Thomas of St. Thomas, Juanita Houck and husband James of Sunbury, and Debra Bumbaugh and husband Craig of Sunbury; two brothers, Robert Morrison and wife Betty and Russell Morrison and wife Cynthia, all of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Morrison, and a nephew, Steve Hull.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 30, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Danny Lemons will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
