Charles A. “Charlie” Pollock, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday morning, December 14, 2017 at his home. Born August 24, 1938 in Shirleysburg, PA, he was a son of the late Charles I. and Mary E. Horne Pollock. Charlie was a 1956 graduate of Captain Jack High School in Mt. Union. He was a barber in Chambersburg for many years, retiring in 2014. Early in his life he had been employed at Grove Manufacturing. He was a life member of the Chambersburg Club and a member of George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM, both in Chambersburg. Charlie enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, spending time with his grandchildren, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Arlene E. Clark Pollock, whom he married July 7, 1962 in Frederick, MD; three children, Trudy Gilbert (Duane) of Chambersburg, Charles A. Pollock, Jr., (Angela) of Chambersburg, and Suzanne Holtry (Terry) of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren, Zachary Gilbert, Avery Gilbert, Ella Pollock, Aiden Pollock, Seth Flagle, Brandy Foster, and Brayton Stouffer; a great-grandson, Kailer Flagle; and a brother, Russell Pollock (Shirley) of Shirleysburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Rick Noll will officiate. A Masonic Service will be conducted by members of George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:30 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
