Charles Seif

Charles L. Seif, 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Monday afternoon, November 16, 2015 at his home. Born February 21, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was a son of the late Charles L. and Dorothy Thompson Seif. Charles earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 1959 from Allegheny College, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He served with the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by the United States Defense Department at Letterkenny Army Depot, and in many other posts in the US and overseas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Li Yong Cha Seif, whom he married May 5, 1977; his sister, Dorothy Seif Kapp of Butler, PA; and his brother, James M. Seif of Wilmington, DE, and six nieces and nephews.

Charles was proficient in several languages, a coin collector, member of the National Rifle Association, and interested in all aspects of history and enjoyed travel.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, November 20, 2015 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. A service to celebrate Charles’ life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2015 at West Side Brethren in Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA where Rev. James Sollenberger will officiate. Interment will be at 1:30 PM Saturday at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
