Charlotte A. Flack

Charlotte A. Flack, 84, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Born February 19, 1940 in New Brunswick, NJ she was the daughter of the late Weston P. and Mildred (Kilbourn) Ashman. 

She graduated from South River High School with honors in 1958. She obtained her associates degree in business from King’s College, Briarcliff Manor, NY. Following graduation she was a secretary to the registrar. For three years she worked as a summer youth counselor at Word of Life Inn & Island, Schroon Lake, NY where she met her late husband Clayton B. Flack. The couple was married at the King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, New York on July 27, 1963. They lived in Pleasantville, New York where their two children, Sarah and Daniel, were born. Together the family moved to Pennsylvania in 1989 and has resided here since.

She was employed as a legal secretary throughout her career for Reader’s Digest for nine years, part-time at IBM, and World Evangelistic Outreach for 13 years. Later in life she became a part-time caregiver for the elderly for 22 years. Charlotte was a long time and active member of The Open Door Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family. Charlotte and Clayton also ministered and opened up their home to over 50 foster children. She is survived by two children Sarah F. Reeves and Daniel P. Flack and wife Jessica, all of Chambersburg; five grandchildren: Josh Travis and wife Dawn, Shawna Parson and husband Carter, Liam Flack, Ellianna Vazquez, and Adyson Flack, all of Chambersburg; a brother, Weston Ashman and his wife Lydia of Arizona; sister-in-law, Betty Dolback and husband Bud of Crown Point, NY, brother-in-law, David Flack and wife Hazel, of Ticonderoga, NY, and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, July 15, 2024 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastors Carl McKee and Mike Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Monday afternoon in the funeral home.
