Chester B. “Chet” Robinson, 76, of Dry Run, died Tuesday afternoon, December 31, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 24, 1937 in Neelyton, PA, he was a son of the late John Stitt and Dora Goshorn Robinson. He worked for most of his life as a truck driver. Chester was a member of Concord United Methodist Church where he served as Superintendent. He was a member of James W. McCartney Post 232 American Legion and danced for many years at the Valley Barn Square Dance. Chet was an avid hunter and fisherman and was very involved with his family and their activities and events.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna; two daughters, Deborah Ritchey and husband Robert of Honey Grove, and Cindy Robinson and fiancé Robert Crouse of St. Thomas; a grandson, Darren Ritchey and wife Cristal of Biglerville; two great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Breanne Ritchey; and three siblings, Audrey Coons of Fannettsburg, Theron Robinson of Biglerville, and Maxine Horn of Shippensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruby Ann Robinson; and two sisters, Althea O’Donnell and Gloria Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Concord United Methodist Church with Pastor DeAnn Newhouse, Elder Rev. James Fox, and Rev. Marlin “Butch” Neil officiaiting. Interment will follow at Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
