Two Angels were sent to Heaven on November 29th; Tad Stenger in 2017 and his mother, Christine Stenger joined him in 2018. Born on Chrismas Day of 1940 (77), Christine was the daughter of Victor and Sallie Ditto of Hagerstown, MD. She is surived by her husband of 56 years, Larry Stenger; Tad’s family: wife, Veronica and their children Molly, Tina and Hunter; son Scott (Karli) and their children, Solie, Sam, and Sailor; son Shawn (Angela) and their children, Carly, Brady, and Jake; daughter Kendra, and her children, Madeleine, Clark, and Mara; and one sister, Ruth.
Christine was a graduate of South Hagerstown High, class of 1958, and a graduate of Frostburg State Teachers College, class of 1962. She taught second grade in the Washington D.C. area for five years before starting her family . Her greatest joy was raising her family and watching them all grow into wonderful human beings. She also cherished her friends, who knew her to always be humane, kind, caring and understanding to all. She was also a proud member of the P.E.O. organization.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East Chambersburg, with Pastor Caroline E. Saxton officiating. A private interment will be held in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, December 3rd in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Friends are also invited to join the family for a reception following the service.
