Clair Johnson

Clair E. “Gene” Johnson, 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday morning, May 2, 2015 at his home. Born January 23, 1934 in Stoufferstown, PA, he was a son of the late Clarence McKinley and Mary Wiser Johnson. Early in his life, Gene was employed as a heavy equipment operator. He later went to work at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in December of 1998. His wife, Evelyn I. “Ilo” Johnson, whom he married in March of 1953, preceded him in death on February 17, 2010.

He is survived by his son, Barry E. Johnson and wife Donna of Chambersburg; his grandson, Adam E. Johnson and wife Cheryl, of Waynesboro; three step-grandchildren, Angela, Alexander, and Aden Puchalo; and a brother, Bruce Johnson of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ira “Red” Johnson.

In accord with his wishers, there will be no viewing or services.
