Clara V. Plasterer, age 84, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Village of Laurel Run Nursing Home. Born May 11, 1928 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. DeHart, Sr. and Bessie I. Bakner DeHart.
Clara worked as the housekeeping supervisor for Manor Care Nursing Home in Chambersburg until her retirement in 1992, she was also a foster mother and owner and founder of Clara’s Creations for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making arts and crafts, and Christian fellowship while attending The Open Door Church.
Surviving is her children, Larry A. DeHart, Sr. (wife Patsy) of Waynesboro; Donna M. Haugh (husband Douglas) of Chambersburg; and Gerri L. Sollenberger of Maryland, five grandchildren, Larry A. DeHart, Jr.; Amy J. Shockey; Douglas Haugh, Jr.; Maria Jones; and Hannah Haugh, two great-grandchildren, Preston Freeman and Lily Hensley; and six siblings, Lucy Kerlin of Chambersburg; Clarence W. DeHart, Jr. of Chambersburg; Mary Rice of Chambersburg; Gary DeHart of Marion; Michael Dehart of Chambersburg; and Jean Watkins of Robertsdale, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Plasterer in 2004 and four siblings, Benjamin DeHart, Franklin DeHart, Irene Hershey, and Julia Kay.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Kenneth Reid will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery.
