Clarence Rosco Bard, age 91, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017. Born November 23, 1926, in Scotland, PA, he was the son of the late George S. Bard and Cora Henry Bard.
A WWII and Korean War veteran, Mr. Bard served honorably in the U.S. Navy, while serving he also was employed by the TB Wood Sons Company, where he retired after 45 years of service. He was a member of King Street Church for more than 60 years and was a life member of VFW Post 1599.
He is survived by his daughter, Candace Curie (Charles) Gaithersburg, MD; one sister, Janice Shield of Fayetteville, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bard, whom he married in 1949; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Lester F. Stine and Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered by members of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to King Street Church, Samaritan Fund 162 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
