Clarence J. Carbaugh, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Monday afternoon, January 17, 2022 at his home. Born July 8, 1942 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late George and Viginia Deshong Carbaugh. He had been employed for 25 years with Nibble with Gibbles and then went on to work for the former Hennessey Products. He retired from the Ingram Book Company. Clarence attended Cornerstone Church of Christ and his hobbies included fishing, hunting, and going to public sales.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Bussard Carbaugh, whom he married August 2, 1963; five children, Eric G. Carbaugh Blank of Frederick, MD, Celia M. Caldwell and husband Larry of Chambersburg, Curtis S. Carbaugh and wife Dawn of Chambersburg, Barbara S. Monninger and husband Dave of St. Thomas, and Bonnie K. Johns and husband Dave of Chambersburg; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Edith Daywalt of Chambersburg, Mary Jane Stottlemyer and husband Roger of Hagerstown, Ann Coyle of Shippensburg, and Charlotte Ruby and husband Denny of Chambersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Stacy Higgens and an aunt, Mary Deshong.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday January 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Bob Hart will officiate.
Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
