Clarence J. Miley, 81, of Fannettsburg, PA, died Friday evening, January 20, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 10, 1930 in Dry Run, he was a son of the late Frank and Elsie Jones Miley. Clarence had been employed at Letterkenny Army Depot for seventeen years and was employed as a heavy equipment operator at New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company for twenty-eight years. He was a member of James W. McCartney Post 232 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Mutersbaugh Miley, whom he married December 4, 1948; four daughters, Linda Burdick and husband Stephan Smolen of Carlisle, PA, Barbara Peck and husband David of McAllisterville, PA, Robin DePree and husband Kenneth of Thompsontown, PA, and Tina Gipe and husband Dan of Dry Run, PA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Jane Barrick of Willow Hill and Marie Foster of Shippensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA. Rev. John Semple will officiate. Interment will follow in Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
