Clyde Fickes

Clyde J. Fickes, Jr., age 88, of Fayetteville, PA passed away at his daughter’s home with his family by his side on Monday evening, September 18, 2017. Born March 13, 1929, in Shippensburg, PA, he was the son of the late Clyde J., Sr. and Mary Flory Fickes.
Mr. Fickes Served in the U.S. Army. He was a Plumber by trade and worked at the former DeRose Industries for over 30 years, never missing a day’s work and retiring in 1991. He enjoyed listening to music and car racing.
Surviving are four children, Linda L. Carbaugh (Bill) of Fayetteville, PA, Donald W. Fickes (Deb) of Fayetteville, PA, Brenda Fickes of (the late Marion Cubeta) of Fayetteville, PA, and Clyde J. Fickes III (Heather) of Perry Co., PA; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Sylvia Garman (Wayne) of Newburg, PA, Earl Fickes of Chambersburg, PA, and LeRoy Fickes of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Cook Fickes in 1998, two sons, Randy and Paul Fickes, and four siblings.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 7 – 9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. Funeral services and interment will be private.
