Concetta “Connie” Signorelli Carnicelli, 93, passed away March 15, 2018 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Born December 31, 1924, Connie was a native of Auburn, New York, the daughter of the late Luciano and Anna DiGiaimo Signorelli. She was valedictorian of her class at Central High School in Auburn and a graduate of SUNY in Albany. She completed her M.A. degree in marketing and economics at the University of Nevada, Reno, and continued her studies at Brigham Young University in Utah. She taught high school and adult education for Lassen County Public Schools in California. After her retirement she continued teaching adult education in Reno, Nevada and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Connie is survived by her sister, Lavinia Baruch, of Auburn, her children, Jean Simon (Thomas) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Margaret Valli of Frederick, Maryland, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Emily Signorelli, Sandra Lesch, Rena Alexander, Mary Rita Carnicelli, Rosemarie Cammuso, Clara Picarro, and Violet Jones (Edward), and 30 nieces and nephews and their children and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph, brothers, Emilio and Carmen, sister, Gilda, nephews, Nicholas and James Baruch and Thomas Picarro Jr., niece, Joyce Cantrell, sisters-in law,
Palmena Romeo, Dora Taylor, and Jennie Carnicelli, brothers-in-law, Vincent, Gino, Raymond, and Matthew Carnicelli, Paul Cammuso, Thomas Picarro, Gerald Lesch, and Daniel Baruch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 19, 2018, at 10:30 AM in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA, where the Very Rev. Fr. Luis R. Rodriguez will celebrate. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 19 from 9 – 10 AM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, Mass will follow immediately at 10:30 at the above church. Interment will follow in Columbia Memorial Park, Clarksville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the charity of your choice. The family expresses their gratitude for the many years of gentle and professional care Connie received at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and to Heartland Hospice for their wonderful support.
