Our precious Mom, Connie “Fuzzy” Irene Love, entered the kingdom triumphant on Saturday, December 9, 2023. She was born to the late Carl V & Gladys (Wolfe) Shaffer, on April 17, 1942 in Brookville, PA, and was one of four children. She graduated from Brookville High School in 1960.
In 1963, Connie married the late Robert D. Love, who called her “Fuzzy” after their first date, which became her nickname throughout their 56 years of marriage. Connie was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Gram” to her great-grandchildren. She had a sweet and gentle personality, with a spunky, silly side. She treasured her friends and neighbors, and loved to provide an endless supply of baked goods to everyone, especially her famous chocolate chip cupcakes. She loved to have tea parties and always had sweet treats and snacks for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She embodied her last name “Love” and was a sanctuary of peace, warmth, and kindness.
She is the loving and devoted mother of Robin D. Barrick (husband Dean Barrick of Chambersburg), and Robert “Bobby” Love (wife Katherine Love of Hershey), cherished Grandma of Alexa K. Stouffer (husband Ryan Stouffer of Chambersburg), Aaron C Barrick, Tiffany Meeks-Van Der Werf (husband David Meeks-Van Der Werf of Hershey), and Robert Wright, adored Gram of Joshua and Jocie Stouffer, and dear sister of Larry Shaffer, Martha Dodd, and Charlotte McAfoose.
Fuzzy was a strong “Mama Bear” and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She passed down family traditions, recipes, and skills, and her resilience was an inspiration. She is in God’s loving arms, rejoicing in heaven.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Chambersburg, 225 South Second St, Chambersburg, PA 17201. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service. Condolences and memories may be shared on her Book of Memories page at www.geiselfuneralhome.com.
