Mrs. Constance S. “Connie” (Harry) High, 81, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 in the York Hospital, York, PA. Born August 30, 1939 in Dry Run, PA she was the daughter of the late Wilbur “Red” and Violet (Snyder) Harry.
She started her career at the Stanley Company, Chambersburg. She was later employed at the Letterkenny Army Depot in food service for a number of years until her retirement. Mrs. High was a long-time member of the Freedom in Christ Church as well as the Marine Corps League Auxiliary both in Chambersburg. She was an avid bingo player and affectionately referred to every one as “girlfriend” which brought a smile to many, many faces over the years.
She is survived by two daughters, Amy Burton (Dave) and Denise Funk (William); two step-sons, Ted High (Paula) and Darrell High (Lili) four grandchildren, Summer, Hunter, Coty and Travis, who was her caregiver over the past year; one great-granddaughter, Rylee; and siblings, Shelby, Rick, Barb and Milo.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore High; two daughters, Kim Burton and Kelly High and siblings, Edna Hoffman and Glovia SiDylvester.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 6:30 P.M., in the Freedom in Christ Church, 4042 Sycamore Grove Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor John Pogue officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. in the church Thursday evening.
