Crawford F. Peters, 76, of St. Thomas, PA, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday morning, June 30, 2018 from his home. Born May 20, 1942 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Cletus and Catherine Heckman Peters. Early in his life, Crawford had worked as a gas station attendant. He was then employed as a forklift operator at Knouse Foods in Chambersburg and went on to work at Grove Manufacturing where he held the position of supervisor. He was last employed, part-time, as a custodian at Christian Life Church. He was a member of Christian Life Church and the Miniature Carousel Club. His hobbies included woodworking and using his skills to craft hand-made miniature carousels, hunting, working on muscle cars, going to car shows with his son Troy, and watching wildlife outside his home.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Fay Walls Peters; two sons, Crawford Peters, Jr. and wife Karen of McConnellsburg and Michael Peters and wife Kellie of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Nathan, Seth, and Mackenzie Peters; and three sisters, Frances, Mary, and Jane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Troy Eugene Peters on June 20, 2018 and nine brothers and sisters.
A service to celebrate the lives of Crawford and his son Troy will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Christian Life Church, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Joe Pickens will officiate. Interment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens at a later date.
