Captain Curtis R. (Nick) Nunn passed away on Thursday, April 27 in Scotland, PA. Born February 16, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Avery Warren Nunn and Helen Rice Nunn.
After graduation from Green Hill High School in Harrisonville, PA he enlisted in The U. S. Army and served during The Korean Conflict. Following his discharge in 1955 he joined The Baltimore, MD police department. In 1958 he joined the Anne Arundel County, MD police department serving 30 years. He retired as Captain in 1985. He was also a graduate of The FBI Academy. After retiring he worked as a bailiff and special officer for The District Court of Maryland. Following his move to Scotland, PA, he was elected as a PA State Constable serving Greene Township for two six-year terms.
He was a member of the following organizations: FOP Lodge #70 in Anne Arundel County, MD, FOP Lodge #68 in Carlisle, PA, FBI National Academy Graduates, International Association of Chiefs of Police, Charter Member of Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club in Anne Arundel County, MD, and the Blue Knights Lodge #25 in Chambersburg, PA, National Harley Owners Group, and Chambersburg Harley Owners Group #4222. He was also a member of The VFW Post #1599 and The AMVETS Post #224 in Chambersburg, PA.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Clarajane Dando Nunn, niece Julie Warehime, and grandniece Tayler Warehime. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carole Leta Nunn.
Friends and family are invited celebrate Nick’s life at 1:00 PM Friday, May 19, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Bill Smith will officiate. There will be a visitation from 12:00 Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
