Cynthia Owens

Cynthia MarQueen Owens, age 67, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Monday, February 17, 2014. Born February 8, 1947 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence “Ziggy” Zweizig and Hilda Irene Stouffer Zweizig. Mrs. Owens was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She worked as a supervisor at New Visions in Chambersburg, retiring in 2013. She enjoyed painting and music.
Surviving are two children, Douglas J. Zweizig of Philadelphia, PA, and Monica R. Owens of Chambersburg, PA; a step-son, Andre Owens of Los Angeles, CA; two uncles, Thomas Wertz (wife Shirley) of Chambersburg, PA and John Wertz of Chambersburg; and several cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Houston F. Owens, Jr. on September 26, 2009.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Rick Noll will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home on Saturday. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Children’s Aide Society, 255 Miller St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
