Cyril Henry

February 25, 1934 — March 20, 2024

Cyril “Doc” Henry, 90, of Chambersburg, went home to be with the Lord, March 20, 2024, from Paramount Senior Living with his adoring family at his side. He was born on Sunday February 25, 1934, in Chambersburg, son of the late George and Rhoda Henry.
During Doc’s career of automotive work, his favorite work was with Dice’s Tire Shop. He started his career at a young age, and only took a few years off to join the Marines when drafted. He traveled throughout Franklin County and the Shippensburg area replacing tractor tires for farmers, and they loved him. He never met a stranger, only a future friend. Doc also loved the outdoors, never turning up an opportunity to hunt deer, bear, or go fishing. He was famous for making his own fly-fishing lures. He spent many an hour outdoors with his family, especially hunting and fishing with his boys.
Survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Phyllis Martin Henry married on September 3, 1955; sons Barry D. Henry and wife Jill of Chambersburg, Jeffery L. Henry and wife Melody of Greencastle, and Kipen S. Henry and wife Wendy of Chambersburg; many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sister, Lois Culler and husband Gary; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Doc was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters, and his grandson, Jamie Todd Henry.
Private arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc. Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hartland Hospice and/or Paramount Senior Living. On behalf of the Henry Family, we would like to thank the wonderful staff of both Heartland Hospice of Chambersburg, and Paramount Senior Living of Fayetteville.
