Dale Shoop

Dale C. Shoop, age 85, of East Waterford, PA, passed away at his home on Monday, November 18, 2013. Born July 1, 1928, in Doylesburg, PA, he was the son of the late James and Grace Goshorn Shoop.
Mr. Shoop was a self - employed dairy farmer and truck driver. He was a member of the Shippensburg Fly Fishing Club. An avid hunter and fisherman, Dale also enjoyed collecting and repairing antique tractors, however, Dale’s favorite past time was the time he spent on the dance floor, square dancing.
Surviving is his loving wife of 67 years, Martha Peterson Shoop, whom he married August 10, 1946; five children, Richard Shoop (wife Linda) of Concord, PA, Susan McMullen (husband George) of Chambersburg, PA, Bonnie Moats of Chambersburg, PA, Betty Wingert (husband Russell) of Concord, PA, and Robert Shoop (wife Yvonne) of Shippensburg, PA; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Dean Shoop of East Waterford, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Moats and two siblings, David Shoop and Helen Metz.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 10 AM at the Agett – Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA; where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Upper Path Valley Cemetery.
