Danny Gipe

Danny T. Gipe, age 53, of Dry Run, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Thursday, December 8, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born in Chambersburg on January 25, 1963, he was the son of Patricia A. Hammond Gipe and the late Arthur J. Gipe.

Dan was a 1981 graduate of Fannett-Metal High School and the former Franklin County Vo-Tech School, where he had studied auto body. Following graduation, Dan dedicated over 33 years, working in the paint shop in building 350 at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring as a paint leader. Dan was a member of St. Mary’s Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Doylesburg and the Sons of the American Legion, Post 232, Dry Run, PA. An avid outdoorsman, Dan was most at peace when in the woods chasing turkeys.

In addition to his mother, Dan is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Tina Miley Gipe, whom he married March 13, 1993; three siblings, Rick J. Gipe (wife Rosie), Jeff E. Gipe (wife Karen), and Sally A. Kitzmiller (husband Kenny); his nieces and nephews, Heidi Martin (husband Justin), Darren Gipe (wife Brianne), Klinton Gipe (wife Kelsey), Kaitha Gipe (fiancé Luke McMullen), and Bailey Kitzmiller; three great-nephews, Kasen, Bransen, and Jensen Gipe. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Mary’s Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 21169 Cross Rd., Doylesburg, PA 17219, on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 11 AM, where the Very Reverend Fr. Luis R. Rodriguez will celebrate. The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 PM on Monday, December 12, 2016, in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA 17220, where Deacon Richard Ramsey will offer a vigil service at 8 PM; and one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Interment will follow the Mass in the Church Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions in Dan’s name in lieu of flowers to the Daisy Fund, P.O. Box 409, Shippensburg, PA 17257 or to Path Valley Outreach, c/o Annette Thompson, 11057 Creek Rd., Fannettsburg, PA 17221.
