Darlene Landis

Darlene P. Landis, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday evening, February 17, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 4, 1947 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Carl W. and Gladys Louise Miller Poe. Darlene was a 1965 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and was employed in the accounting department at Chambersburg Hospital for more than twenty years, retiring in 2013. She was a member of the Franklin Fire Company and was an avid bingo player. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Darlene is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Landis, whom she married June 30, 1968; two brothers, Gerald A. Poe and wife Susan and Jack M. Poe and wife Susan, all of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dianne B. Salter will officiate. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday and from Noon-1:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Darlene’s name may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
