David R. Baer, 54, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 30, 1963 in Chambersburg, he was the son of David J. Baer of Chambersburg and the late Patricia L. McClure Baer.
A 1981 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and Franklin County Vocational-Technical School, David went on to work for various upholstery businesses locally including; Adams Upholstery, Guyer’s Upholstery, Secrest Upholstery, and most recently as an upholsterer at Bowhead at Letterkenny Army Depot. Mr. Baer was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 842 in Chambersburg. He enjoyed entering his truck into competitive truck shows, shooting pool, bowling, and attending car shows and monster truck rallies. Most of all, he liked spending time with his children. His wife, Jodi Yohe Baer, whom he married on September 28, 1996, preceded him in death on May 9, 2015.
In addition to his father, David is survived by his children, Danielle and Joshua Baer; his sisters Kim and Barbie Baer all of Chambersburg; and his father-in-law, Galen Yohe, of St. Thomas. In addition to his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lois Yohe, and brother-in-law Galen “Pedro” Yohe.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dr. Kenny Craig will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home.
