David R. “Dave” Bigler, 66, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in his home. Born January 20, 1955 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late Martin Lee and Ruth (Wolffe) Bigler.
He attended Chambersburg Area Schools before joining the United States Marine Corps. Dave was employed for the Borough of Chambersburg in many different areas including meter reading, sewage department, gas department and the highway department. He retired January 2019 after 39 and half years with the borough.
Dave was a member of the Marine Corp League and the Franklin Fire Company both in Chambersburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan (Bowen) Bigler, who he married October 14, 1978; four children, Matthew Bigler, Nicole Bigler, Amy Bigler and her significant other, David, and Elaine Simmers and her husband Travis all of Chambersburg; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister Barbara Chilcote of Shade Gap, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
