David Cowan

David E. Cowan III, 70, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in his home. Born on February 5, 1945 in Wilmore, PA, he was a son of the late David E Cowan II and Bernadette Godish Cowan. A 1963 graduate of the former Scotland School for Veteran's Children, he then honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy throughout the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from the DESCOM division at Letterkenny Army Depot in 1994. He is survived by three children, Tammy Bowers (husband Tim), April Cowan, and David E Cowan IV (wife Kris), all of Chambersburg; four sisters, Janet Gentile, Linda Plummer, Carol Burd, and Joanne Spaid; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Jessica, Kelsey, Skye, Nicholas, and Gabriel; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Cowan. Service arrangements are private and entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
