David E. Jones, age 74, of Spring Run, PA; passed away in his home on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Born April 13, 1937 in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late David H. and Beatrice O’Conner Jones.
Mr. Jones served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Collegeville High School. Dave attended the Doylesburg United Methodist Church; he worked as a set up mechanic for Merck Co. Pharmaceutical Co. for over 30 years, where he retired in 1994. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed fishing, especially fishing in Canada, collecting trains, camping, and spending time with family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Clarabelle Berrier Jones, whom he married on May 27, 1966; three children, Robert C. Jones of Carlisle, PA; Tracy L. Jones of Fairhaven, NJ; and Valerie Jones of AZ, seven grandchildren, Brittney; Katheryn; Lindsey; Evan; Holly; Wyatt; and Lauryn, and one sister, Marilyn Weikel of Royersford, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Jones and two sisters and one brother.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10 AM in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA; where Pastor Susan Stewart will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20 from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will follow the service in Salem Cemetery, Blairs Mills, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Heartland Hospice; 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd., suite 302, Carlisle, PA 17013.
