David Lipsius

December 4, 1942 — February 11, 2024

David C. Lipsius, 81, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Mercy House of Chambersburg. Born December 4, 1942 in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Hugh C. and Estelle (Kelley) Lipsius.

He was a graduate of York High School in Maine with the Class of 1959. Dave later in his career went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from University of Maryland.

Dave was enlisted in the United States Navy from October 2, 1961 until his retirement and honorable discharge September 30, 1985. He loved his country and served proudly. Following retirement from the Navy he went to work as a systems engineer for Lockheed Martin, Maryland. Dave retired in March of 2006 after 20 years with the company. He enjoyed fly fishing, golfing, gardening, and volunteering with Project Healing Waters, teaching fellow veterans to fly fish, for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Christel Kim (Borofsky) Lipsius; a son, Eric Lipsius and his wife Amy of Finksburg, MD; three grandchildren, Ashley, Mason, and Emmeline; five siblings, Hugh “Kerry” Lipsius, Cynthia Lipsius Gembola, Sally Kilgore, Peter Lipsius, and Caroline Cornell Holland; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings, Jane Lipsius-Driver, Michael, Kelley, Klint Lipsius, and Lee Cornell.

The Family would like to thank all of the doctors, care providers, family and friends that provided for David over the last decade.

Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
