David K. McClure, 72, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 23, 1951 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late James McClure, Jr. and Betty (Brookens) McClure.
He served with the United States Air Force from April 28, 1971 until his honorable discharge February 25, 1975. Following his service he went to work for the federal government as a supply technician in New Cumberland and Letterkenny Army Depot. Dave retired in 2002 after many years with the government. He was a member of the American Legion Post 46 in Chambersburg and the NRA. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, going on walks, doing yardwork, talking, and taking in the wildlife.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Donna M. (Stouffer) McClure who he married May 20, 1985; a son, Chad McClure and his wife Mary of Chambersburg; two step-children, Beth O’Donnell and her husband Clair and Anthony Swope both of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Barbara Forrester of Scotland, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, James McClure, III, Matthew McClure, and Mark McClure.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Bob Hart officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of the Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
