David L. Mills, 90, of Chambersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 30, 2011 in the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on October 29, 1921 in Big Pool, MD, he was a son of the late Lewis and Fannie Forsythe Mills.
David proudly served his country as a gunner and radio operator with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy J. Angle Mills, whom he married on January 26, 1946; three children, Linda Morse (and husband, Thomas) of Milpitas, CA, Faye Zook (and husband, Fred) of Newmanstown, PA, and Michael Mills (and wife, Mary) of Chambersburg; one sister, Irene Lesher of Falling Waters, WV; four grandchildren, David and Brian Zook, Christa LeMoine, and Zachary Mills; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and four sisters, Naomi, Edith, Wilma and Ruth.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church, 8204 Ft. McCord Road, Chambersburg, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Rev. Howard Beaver and Pastor Ron Strader will officiate. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM on Tuesday in Stone Bridge Cemetery, Hancock, MD.
